On an old industrial site, this school embodies a significant transformation of use and ambiance in the context of urban renewal in this peri-urban district of Geneva. The urban composition approach chosen is to break down the program into three volumes around a central space to reinforce the identity of a school site in this context. The outdoor amenities align with the proposed composition and consider the differences in terrain elevation; notably, the sports hall is nestled into the slope, offering an elevated courtyard that opens up to the expansive landscape.

The building’s structure relies on a wooden frame and a mixed floor system combining CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) and concrete, providing an optimal combination of strength and lightness. The façade is made of reused concrete from the site. In terms of energy, geothermal energy coupled with solar panels is designed for heating and hot water. Additionally, natural ventilation is integrated into the concept, promoting a healthy and comfortable indoor environment.
