To address the multifactorial challenges and ambitious goals of the Pirmil-les-Isles ZAC, we aimed for utmost clarity. A very simple design unites the three buildings into a single U shape around a continuous garden, a generous natural space connected to the neighborhood’s landscape framework. A large transparent bike shed accommodates all bike-related activities: commuting bikes, family cargo bikes, Sunday mountain bikes, leisure scooters, and more.

The apartments are all cross-through, accessible through a corridor distribution. This corridor connects and unifies the entire project from north to south; it serves as a transition and meeting place for all floors. These shared spaces are complemented by a common rooftop terrace. The façade design incorporates 100% reused materials sourced locally: agricultural cladding, integrated into large horizontal bands, is angled to incorporate technical elements such as blinds while creating a sunshade effect on the windows during summer.
