Flexibility on multiple scales. Firstly, concerning the ambitions of Monnières where the project is situated. A municipality aiming to create a childcare hub, comprising school, daycare, and after-school care in close proximity. Thus, the project integrates by connecting to the already existing leisure center. A new rectilinear building that brings a new facade and organization, initiating the transformation of the new neighborhood.

The placement goes against the initial request to preserve available space to the north (a playground is planned there for the time being). Furthermore, flexibility at the building scale. A unified envelope blends with the existing ochre tones, while standing out with a roof that extends onto the walls. The portico structure allows for maintaining a spacious and generous volume. A winter garden serves as a transition between the two programs, a buffer space shared among the different children of the hub. A central circulation is created to restore clarity and linear distribution to the after-school center. This east-west circulation (along the covered walkway) connects the extension to the existing structure and could extend westward in the future.
